The Trial
We were honored to have been asked to do the cover for the Kafka / Welles “The Trial” - a visual masterpiece. Almost every frame of the film is a frameable piece of art.
Orson Welles played deftly with perspective, angles, and light throughout the film. As Roger Ebert accurately wrote, the film is masterful for its “disorienting camera angles and unconventional use of focus.” We wanted to create an image that captured the puzzling world that the character Josef K had been imprisoned within. We also wanted to create something that could be viewed from a variety of different angles.
Studio Role _ Identity Development, Key Art, Packaging.
